LAST YEARS FESTIVAL:

The 8th annual 30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL- set for January 13-16, 2017 - has announced the initial line-up for the 2017 celebration of singers and songs. The festival, held in venues along scenic Highway 30A in Florida's South Walton County, will feature headline performances from esteemed artists JOHN PRINE, CHEAP TRICK, DR. JOHN & THE NITE TRIPPERS, SHAWN COLVIN, MATTHEW SWEET, TODD SNIDER, AND PARKER MILLSAP.

Featured artists in venues at night on 30A include Darrell Scott, Drivin N Cryin, Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project, Gary Louris (Jayhawks), Amy LaVere, John Fullbright, Over the Rhine, JoJo Hermann (Widespread Panic), Chely Wright, Murray Attaway (Guadalcanal Diary), Sarah Lee Guthrie, Tom Gray (The Brains), Shawn Mullins, Peter Case, John Gorka, Nicole Witt, and Farewell Angelina.

John Prine - 30ASWF“The talent pool of songwriters is vast and prodigious” muses co-Producer Russell Carter. “As the years progress, it is exciting to broaden the horizon and present varied styles of music. It is with especial pride and excitement that we announce Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Cheap Trick to headline the Saturday afternoon stage with their highly melodic crunchy guitar pop songcraft. They will rock and reverberate Grand Boulevard to the eastern tip of 30A and back! The greatest purveyor of New Orleans music in its most unique and original form & 6-time Grammy winner joins us as well – Dr. John with both his Yamaha grand piano and the Nite Trippers. Grammy Award-winner and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame legend John Prine brings his love songs, his melancholy tales of life, his social commentary, and his humor to the stage on Sunday afternoon. We also welcome Shawn Colvin who was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Trailblazer Award at the 2016 Americana Honors & Awards Show. Come early and catch rising star Parker Millsap on his way to fame and fortune rounding out the bill of superlative songwriters.

The 30A Songwriters Festival production team transforms amphitheaters, town halls, restaurants, theaters, bars and covered patios into unique music venues ranging in capacity from 75 to 500 seats indoors and 5,000 outdoors.  Festival weekend passes are now available for $275 and can be purchased at www.30asongwritersfestival.com, and locally in South Walton at the Cultural Arts Alliance office and at Central Square Records in Seaside.

Greetings,  

Caliza is home to the Sunday gospel themed brunch set this morning. We have booked an early show at 9:30 AM and a second show at 11:00 AM to insure that everyone who lines up for the show gets in. Performances by: Ben Glover, Phil Madeira, Brian White, and Karyn Williams. 

At the Pearl, we have a Sunday brunch set at 9:30 AM by Kyle LaMonica, 10:30 AM by David Berkeley and Hugh Mitchell, and at 11:30 AM Ellis Paul.

Over at the Hub we have a Jazz themed brunch with The Cartoon Jazz Band going on from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM. 

Hibiscus, also known as the "Backyard of Love," is offering brunch as well with performances by Mary Bragg and Edie Carey at 9:30 AM, Sarah Lee Guthrie at 10:30 AM, and Gary Louris of The Jay Hawks at 11:30 AM. 

Willie Sugarcapps will be leading a songwriters workshop at the Boathouse at 10:00 AM.

Sunday headlining performances at Grand Boulevard are: John Prine, Shawn Colvin, Parker Millsap, and Amy LaVere. Gates open at 11:00 PM.

There are 3 park and ride locations to Grand Boulevard:

Departing shuttles at 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 12:30 PM

2. WaterColor Publix (grassy lot across from SunTrust Bank)

3. Silver Sands Premium Outlets (lot to the east of Starbucks) 
*Please note this is new and not published in program. This shuttle will run as needed.

Shuttles will return beginning at 4:00 PM.

The Grayton Beer Company Taproom will feature a special event Sunday night with musical performances by John Fullbright and Shawn Colvin. If you were unable to catch John at the Hub last night, this is another opportunity to see one of the most talented singer songwriters in the country. Ticket holders will also receive complimentary Grayton Beer! A complimentary shuttle will be available to Grayton Beer Company from the WaterColor Publix Parking lot. Shuttle at 5:45pm, Doors at 6pm, Performances from 7pm - 9pm. TICKETS HERE. 

By tradition the Festival ends with a bang on Sunday night with the Purple Rain jam - this year at Old Florida Fish House starting at 10:45 PM. Cooper Carter plays a set and leads an all star jam until the midnight hour and beyond.
