After triple East Coast Music Award nominations for her debut In My Bones, Carmel Mikol released her follow-up album Creature with a unique companion book/ebook titled 'Creature of Habit'. Since its August 9th 2011 release on Sound of Pop/Fontana North, the Creature album and book has received rave reviews from both sides of the border, cementing Carmel's reputation as one of Canada's brightest up-and-coming songwriters. Further recognition came in September when "Twenty Something Girl" (track 4 from Creature) was named the Grand Prize Winner in the Folk Category of the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest. She was also awarded top prize in the Folk Category of the 2010 Great American Song Contest and the 2009 Independent Singer Songwriter Awards. Carmel tours extensively in Canada and the US and has shared stages with Canadian folk greats David Francey, David Myles, Connie Kaldor, Matt Andersen and Garnet Rogers.
