About the Artist:

Marti Jones & Don Dixon
Marti Jones and Don Dixon have been performing together for over 30 years.  They have created 24 albums in that time including Marti's most recent, You're Not The Bossa Me and Dixon's new I Lived in the Time of Organ Grinders.  Though Marti spends much of her time painting and Don still produces records for a wide variety of artists, they continue to set aside time to write songs and tour nation-wide.

Marti Jones emerged in the mid 80s from the rich musical scene in Akron, OH.  She made a string of highly acclaimed albums before returning to her true love, painting.  In 1995 she began to record and tour again but didn't put down her paint brushes.

Don began singing at birth.  As soon as he could form words he started making up his own songs.  At the age of ten he found himself tinkering with his sister's guitar and the family piano which led to learning the basics of other instruments like trombone and bass.  By the time he was fifteen he had developed an interest in recording.  In his eighteenth year he became infatuated with acting and though this soon subsided, he has continued to act occasionally but spends most of his time on stage singing and playing bass.

"Marti Jones & Don Dixon - intellectual, socially conscious, roots-informed musicians with their own groove."  -Pamela Winters for Harp Magazine
