Chris Alvarado


Chris Alvarado is an award winning singer/songwriter, luthier, and YouTube creator from Freeport, FL. His YouTube channel, "Driftwood Guitars”, launched in 2021 and quickly grew to

over 65,000 subscribers. In addition to the videos shot from his workshop, he has also partnered with Stewart-MacDonald on several videos. While covering a broad range of guitar-

related and lutherie topics, Chris and his partner, Matt, have also conducted guitar reviews and

the art of building an amplifier.

Throughout his songwriting career, Chris has received many accolades, including being a

finalist in the Nashville Music City Songwriting Competition. In 2014, his song “This I Need You

To Know” was a finalist in the American Songwriting Awards, and a semi-finalist in the

Unsigned Only Music Competition. In May 2013, Chris competed in the Wildflower Music

Festival's Songwriting Competition and received the People's Choice Award. He also placed

3rd in the prestigious 2013 Telluride Troubadour Competition. In 2012, the National Recording

Academy selected Chris to perform at the Florida Grammy Showcase.

Chris has been asked to open up for GRAMMY nominated recording artist Shawn Mullins,

along with Daphne Willis and Edwin McCain. This is his twelfth year playing at the 30A

Songwriters Festival.
