Don Dixon


Singer, musician, songwriter, producer and occasional actor. Has fifteen solo albums including Most of the Girls Like to Dance But Only Some of the Boys Like To which contains the mid 80s MTV hit “Praying Mantis”. Occasionally tours with his wife, acclaimed singer Marti Jones. Has played and sung on numerous records and is a long-time member of Mary Chapin Carpenter’s band. Has songs recorded by Joe Cocker, Ronnie Spector, Hootie & the Blowfish, and the Counting Crows to name a few. Produced recordings for R.E.M., the Smithereens, Marshall Crenshaw, Marti Jones, The Gin Blossoms, Guadalcanal Diary and James McMurtry along with dozens of other influential acts. Acting credits include a featured role as Bert Hanley in 2003’s cult hit, Camp.
