Lisa Morales

grand-boulevard.jpg

Lisa Morales’ music reflects a rich blend of Latin heritage and American roots. A former member of the acclaimed duo Sisters Morales, Lisa continues to honor her cultural legacy through emotionally resonant songs performed in English, Spanish, and Spanglish. With a sound that transcends genres—from folk and rock to Americana and traditional Mexican—her solo work, including the albums Luna Negra, She Ought to Be King, and Sonora, has earned praise for its authenticity, poetic lyrics, and powerful vocals. A cousin of Linda Ronstadt and a torchbearer for family harmonies, Morales brings a legacy of resilience and artistic depth to the modern music scene. Lisa is also known for her production of Hayes Carll’s “Flowers and Liquor,” and co-penned her duet with Rodney Crowell, “Flyin’ and Cryin'.”

Sonora is an emotional ride..but the album isn’t consumed by grief. The feeling is more like relief, even celebration... with a ribbon of Lisa Morales’ Mexican heritage that holds it all together.” Hobart Rowland, Magnet Magazine

“This reminds me of how strong Canciones de Mi Padre was for Linda Ronstadt!” John Sandidge

“..as a songwriter, performer, and producer, she’s worked with an impressive array of

artists, including David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Rodney Crowell, Los Lonely Boys, Hayes

Carll, and Eliza Gilkyson, to name just a few. “Hermanitas in the Rain”, from Morales’

forthcoming solo album Sonora, is a beautiful and personal reflection on their life

together. The song moves from childhood memories of playing in the rain through to a

moving conclusion marked by her sister’s final days." Mayor Danzig, Twangville

"One of the most multifaceted artists to watch." — Rolling Stone

"Lisa Morales gives everything to her music and the craft... an absolute enchantress on

the stage... When she sings, the crowd feels each emotion. She breathes, we breathe."

— Austin Woman Magazine
