Women of Kelley

Women of Kelley, led by veteran bluegrass artist and hit songwriter Irene Kelley, are set to release their highly anticipated family bluegrass project. This project, a collaboration between Irene and her daughters, Justyna and Sara Jean Kelley, showcases the trio’s blend of heritage-driven storytelling and contemporary bluegrass innovation.
Irene Kelley, who has written hits for country icons such as Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, Loretta Lynn, Trisha Yearwood and others, brings her decades of songwriting experience to this endeavor. Joining her are Justyna and Sara Jean Kelley, both accomplished recording artists and songwriters in their own right. Justyna has had her songs featured in the CBS show, NCIS as well as feature films in the US and abroad. Sara Jean’s original songs have been featured on the American crime thriller, Cross as well as by Will Kimbrough, Willie Sugar Capps and others. Together, these 3 offer tight harmonies and an authentic acoustic sound, making The Women of Kelley a unique force in today’s bluegrass and roots music landscape.
Produced in collaboration with 3X GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter Shannon Sanders, this project features songs co-written by Sanders and the Kelley family. The tracks seamlessly blend Appalachian themes with modern influences, incorporating some of Nashville’s finest bluegrass musicians to create a sound that honors tradition while embracing innovation.
The first singles from the project were recorded in a setting that fostered family collaboration and creativity, much of the music came to life during family gatherings at the Kelley home, where shared passions for gardening and home cooking served as inspiration. This close-knit, family-driven process adds an extra layer of authenticity to their music, making the project a true reflection of The Women of Kelley’s artistic roots.
